Sea images

I've always loved the sea but painting it in all its moods is massively difficult! Nearby Rosemarkie Beach was a particular point of focus in 2021 and also trying to include people. So lots of sketchbook work was followed by oil studies, ranging hugely in size. The oil rigs at Cromarty are fantastic and a wonderful artistic challenge  as they dominate land and sea.
