Portraits

Here are a variety of portraits from the last few years! These have all beeen commissioned so are in private hands. What I try to say to people interested in a portrait is:

"My heart is to make your portrait really special for you. I want you to have a painting that will give you pleasure for many years to come. My aim is to achieve a good likeness and also to produce a lovely painting. 

"I have worked for many years on portraits and each one is incredibly special, different and challenging because as people we are all so special and different! That’s what makes portraiture so fascinating.

Time taken ranges from 30 minutes to 34 hours(!)  Some are done entirely from 'sittings', some use both sittings and photos and some are just from photos. A live sitting is wonderful but more time-consuming for you as the sitter and impossible if you live a long way away! I have recently enjoyed doing 'virtual sittings' on Zoom or Facetime - and you, the sitter, can be anywhere in the world! Further work continues in the studio with the help of photos I take of you on the screen! 

With the images here I just use first-names for the sake of confidentiality. Fees vary enormously and have to be worked out on an individual basis.
